‘I’ll be alright if I only rely on my Social Security.’

The average amount per month that seniors have collected in 2019 was $1,461. You’d earn around the same wage in a low paying position in the fast-food industry so ask yourself, is that really enough? You have to consider a lot of factors, including health-related costs. 

So don’t rely on Social Security alone to help you out during retirement. If you’re able, you should consider saving some money separately while tightening your budget.
