Saving and spending go together like traffic and weather. That’s because before you decide how much you need to save for a comfortable retirement, you must determine how much you will spend in retirement.

When it comes to retirees, it has been estimated that they require around 80% or more of their preretirement income to enjoy the same standard of living but situations differ significantly.

Although the average retired household spends 25% less than the average working household each year, retired households seem to pay more than working households on a multitude of things, such as health care and travel. Here’s a complete list of budget categories retirees spend way more money than they should.
