6 States That Are Perfect for Healthy and Active Seniors

October 12, 2020 · Retirement Life

5. Colorado

The Centennial State has the third-lowest obesity rate among seniors in the nation, sitting at just 22%. Colorful Colorado can also boast the fact that it has the second-lowest rate of seniors aged between 65 and 75 that die early- that’s 1,454 out of every 100,000.

When it comes to protecting themselves against preventable diseases, 64.1% of seniors get the flu vaccine, too.

One reason behind these positive numbers could be due to the fact that food insecurity has decreased by 60% in the past three years. On the other hand, excessive drinking has increased by 23%, so that’s something you need to watch out for!
