11 Reasons Why Baby Boomers Aren’t Prepared To Retire

Not planning for the unpredictable

This one is perhaps one of the most astonishing revelations about this particularly unprepared generation: two-thirds of boomers didn’t calculate the possibility of suffering from diminished capacity or, in fact, any mental diseases in their retirement years, like dementia or Alzheimer’s.

They also didn’t plan their funerals or didn’t think about their care at the end of their life. They didn’t sort out a power of attorney in case of anything happening to them both physically or mentally.

Although we appreciate their younger spirits, it would be recommended to have a second plan in case life happens (and it usually does).
