10 Ways Seniors Suffer Financial Abuse

Abuse of power over assets

When you reached an advanced age, sometimes you might need a little help managing your assets. As you well know, there are methods to receive exterior help from someone you trust by investing them with the power of attorney.

Unfortunately, there are cases when the invested people abuse this title for their benefit and against the elderly’s will. Untrustworthy and unethical individuals sometimes use the power of attorney to have a reach on someone else’s assets.

There were also situations where agents were designated with this power of attorney, and have corruptly used it to fraud their clients. This procedure is called the power of attorney abuse.
