Reimbursements and expenses for volunteering

Volunteer work is not only satisfying because it offers you the chance to help other people in need, but it can also help you make some money in the process. As stipulated by IRS in Publication 525, funds and reimbursements can be provided to the following types of volunteers:

  • Volunteers in the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
  • Volunteers in National Senior Service Corps programs
  • Volunteers in the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program
