12 Best Kirkland Products You Should Get at Costco

Pitfalls to Watch For

While warehouse shopping offers tremendous benefits, certain purchasing habits can inadvertently cost you money if you are not careful.

The most common mistake retirees make is buying perishable items in excessive quantities. A massive bag of organic spinach might look like a brilliant deal, but if half of it wilts before you can eat it, your actual cost per consumed ounce skyrockets. Stick to buying perishables you know you will eat quickly, or focus heavily on items you can freeze.

Another pitfall involves the physical reality of bulk goods. Lifting 40-pound bags of dog food or massive cases of bottled water can cause strain or injury. Be mindful of your physical limits. Ask Costco employees for assistance loading heavy items into your cart and your vehicle, and consider transferring bulk items into smaller, manageable containers once you get home.

Had to return Kirkland double A batteries as they were corroding in the package. Heard it is more common than normal
