Stay-at-Home spouses don’t need life insurance

In many American households, one spouse has a 9 to 5 job outside the home while the other is a stay-at-home spouse, taking care of household business and focusing on childcare. While these duties are equally important, they, unfortunately, do not bring in any income.

Another drawback for stay-at-home spouses is that most of them consider having life insurance is not a necessity for them. It’s wrong, however, explains Marc Diana, CEO of the website MoneyTips. Just ask yourself this: “If you’re the sole earner in your family and your spouse passed away, how would you handle all the auxiliary expenses you would require for childcare and other household management issues?” It’s the same for stay-at-home partners in case they are left without any financial support.
