30 Electronics That Are Hiking up Your Electric Bill for No Reason

Leaving this glowing wall sconce on all night is a simple mistake that hikes up your power bill.

When I was growing up, I clearly remember my dad would always fuss about us leaving the lights on around the house. Now that I’m older and wiser (I hope!), I understand his concerns!

Switching off lights is not difficult, it’s just a matter of habit. Considering they cost us around $4 to $104 per year since they have an average wattage of 4 to 104, it’s a habit that could cost a pretty penny.

Television

TVs that aren’t generally used should be turned off at all times- we’re looking at you guest bedroom TV! These have an average wattage of 2 to 54 watts, meaning they could cost you around $2 to $54 per year.

You should also disable your TV’s quick start settings and other power settings- play around and see what works best for you!
