15 Tips to Avoid Being Scammed When Shopping Online

Try not to use public Wi-Fi for online purchases

You should always pay extra attention when you are using a Wi-Fi connection, and preferably you should always avoid buying products or enter payment information when using these kinds of public wireless networks. That’s because when using public networks the likelihood of identity theft increases, as some online hackers can set up a very similar Wi-Fi connection to the one you think you are going to use, hoping you’ll connect to it, as AARP warns us. Still, if you really need to use a public network for online purchases, protect yourself by using a virtual private network.
