10 Ways to Invest in Your Retirement Without Saving Money

November 5, 2020 · Saving & Spending

Focus on your future

Thinking ahead and planning doesn’t always have to be about how much money you’re going to save this month or the next, nor does it have to include how much money you’ll have to spend during retirement!

Find a purpose for your future and think about all the things you’d like to accomplish. If you have something to look forward to, you’ll find each day more and more fulfilling.

Focus on your individual strengths and weaknesses. Even if your plans seem too big to grasp from day 1, set goals up instead. Let’s say you’ve always wanted to do something artistic, like taking up pottery lessons. Your end goal could be to create something beautiful for all your friends and family, right?

Realistically, that’s not an easy thing to achieve, so you’re better off sectioning your dreams into bite-size pieces. Today you’ll sing up for a pottery class. In a few months maybe you’ll have a cute little mug you can show off and say ‘hey! I did this with my own two hands!’

Similarly, your future plans can and should look the same. The more structure you have, the easier it’ll be to find fulfillment! Whether your dreams include redecorating your whole back yard or moving to an oceanfront villa during retirement, you should start thinking about them early on!
