Qualified Charitable Distributions Can Lower Your Taxes! Find Out How

January 4, 2021 · Saving & Spending

Would a QCD help you out in any way?

That’s the very first thing you need to determine. Do you want to, or would it be financially beneficial for you to make a QCD? If the answer is yes, when should you make such a distribution?

Here’s what you need to consider:

  1. You simply want to give to those in need: This is simple. How much do you want to give and when?
  2. Do you want to use a QCD to pay fewer income taxes and be placed in a lower tax bracket?
  3. Do you want to donate your RMD because you don’t need that income to cover estimated costs and expenses?
