Whether you need them for an anniversary celebration, birthday party or a baby shower, the party supplies at Walmart might not be the cheapest ones, especially if you’re on a budget.

Instead of heading to Walmart, better change direction and head to a dollar store.

“Party supplies at Walmart can be up to five times the cost of party supplies at dollar stores,” says Carson Yarbrough, a consumer insights specialist for Offers.com, a site for coupons and insider savings tips. “If you’re planning a party, opt to get party supplies like plastic cups, decorations and balloons at the dollar store to see significant savings.”
