16 Ways to Get Back on Track After Devastating Financial Mistakes

April 8, 2021 · Saving & Spending

Stop Shopping

Sounds impossible, right? How many times have you heard that if you really want something, you should have it? That’s consumerist culture for you, and you should stop and rethink if it’s good advice, especially when it comes to shopping and not your dreams.

If you shop for fun, you should do anything in your power to keep the temptation at bay. On top of avoiding brick-and-mortar shops, you should delete your favorite shopping sites from your bookmarks as well as stored credit cards. “One-click” shopping is your number one enemy right now, so go to your settings and remove that feature immediately.

Heard of a new deal or a sale? You might trick yourself by just looking, so don’t. Look the other way and think of all the wonderful things you’ll be able to do once you’re out of this tough financial spot.

Separate your needs from your wants and do not overspend on your wants because that’s a one-way ticket back to square one.
