16 Ways to Get Back on Track After Devastating Financial Mistakes

April 8, 2021 · Saving & Spending

Adopt a Frugal Filter

Smart financial decisions must now turn into smart financial habits. You have to stick to them. But nobody other than yourself can tell you what will work for your situation! So how do you find the best habits?

Well, it’s not easy, but applying what is known as a frugal filter to any decision that you make will help you spend less money than necessary.

First of all, ask yourself if you truly need that item. This is where you’ll separate your wants from your needs. Secondly, look for things that you already own that could do the same job. These might be a little strange and unconventional, but at this point, does it even matter?

But let’s say you need this item and you can’t replace it with something else. Then look for ways of getting it for free. Borrow it from friends and family, even neighbors if you have to. Look for it in yard sales, go thrift shopping or cash in reward points in exchange for gift cards if you absolutely need to buy new.
