Elderly Morgantown residents can enjoy several benefits. Let’s start with the interesting courses provided by West Virginia University to seniors aged 65 and more. These are all discounted, no matter if they’re for credit or not.

50 and older residents can attend the local Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. For an annual membership of $30, you get to join all sorts of interest groups, attend social gatherings and program classes and find out interesting facts about local and international history, music, learn how to work on a computer or discover the relaxing effects of yoga.

In addition, the University is constantly trying to improve local health care services with the help of its many medical facilities, including the Eye Institute, Heart Institute and Ruby Memorial Hospital. In fact, one of its institutes, The Milken Institute, credits the medical services in the area for helping Morgantown rank 18th among small metro areas.
