7 Most Atrocious Nursing Homes In America

1. South Carolina

In any given year, there could be as many as five million complaints of an elderly person being abused. Many residents of nursing homes do not report their abuse for fear of repercussions from the staff.

The Kingstree Nursing Facility in South Carolina for example, has so many problems with overworked and underpaid staff that in one instance there was a report of a woman being discovered deceased with a broken hip and numerous bruises on her body.

There will never be a good excuse for this type of treatment but when visiting a facility, we should pay close attention to staff interactions. The fact that a place often changes staff should come as a red flag for us.
