Unnecessary Repairs

 Be careful: This is certainly a well-known scheme: con artists pretending to be handymen, who appear at your door to repair something that doesn’t even need to be fixed. They are pushy and they can insist on some issues that require immediate assistance. Cash is demanded and, although they seem to have done some work, this is often carelessly done.

Dangers: These sloppy house “improvements” may damage senior’s homes, making them lose money, as well.

What is being done: The FTC advises people on how to avoid becoming victims of such frauds.
