18 Surprisingly Affordable Retirement Destinations You’ve Never Considered Before

May 6, 2021 · Retirement Life

Nampa, Idaho

Most people might have heard about Boise being one of the best places to live but there’s another town in the area where retirement life could be just as good: Nampa. Located close to Boise, Nampa is a large enough city on its own to provide everything you might need, all with very affordable costs.

The former railroad town has kept its old-town infrastructure and vibe but added modern retail and services to cater to everyone’s needs. Based on the low cost of living, diversity, affordable real estate prices -median rent of $874 – contribute to Nampa’s rising popularity among retirees (and not only among them).

Bisbee, Arizona

If you’re looking for a place to spend your golden years, Arizona surely needs to be on your shortlist. If life in a big city is no longer appealing to you, look no further than Arizona’s small-town Bisbee. This charming border town offers you the possibility to stretch your nest egg for years due to its affordable prices for health care, entertainment, and cost of living in general.

Its strong art scene and artsy shops, restaurants and bars, touristic and historical attractions as well as impressive sceneries make this Arizona gem a place to consider when searching for your retirement destination.

Not Kahului, Hawaii!! Average home prices over 1 million. Surely you guys are not serious. Cost more than 30% to live there than anywhere else in US. Infrastructure can not handle the locals and tourist at the same time. Most beaches are crowded and traffic is the pits. Do your homework and spend some time there before you send seniors there.
