4. Hot Springs Village, Arkansas

Hot Springs Village may not be among the biggest retirement communities, but it has around 26,000 acres and it is situated in Arkansas’ Ouachita Mountains. This community offers a lot of possibilities to enjoy nature and social activities, as it has 11 lakes, two marinas, nine golf courses, and 200 clubs and civic groups. Usually, you can buy a house here with $100,000, although there are also options for single families at $60,000 and also $50,000 for townhomes.

And if you do decide to move near a lake, you have to try paddleboarding!
