Don’t Let Saving Be a Choice

If you’re one of the thousands of Americans who aren’t used to saving money on a weekly or monthly basis then this could be a life and retirement saving technique! By taking away your choice, you’ll be much more likely to set yourself up for success.

Automatic payments are your best friend. Just make sure all your retirement accounts withdraw money from each paycheck. Only then can you use the rest of your money for leisure activities and everything in between.

As an added note, turn on automatic payments for utilities as well. Those who are in a real bind, who have started saving much later in life, could also use whatever is left at the end of the month for additional savings. But in order to do so, you must ensure you have a good starting point.
