7 Social Security Scams You Need to Pay Attention to

Offers to increase the benefits for payment

Other scammers have more imagination, and they might offer you increased payouts in exchange for what could seem a reasonable fee.

But according to Wurst, Social Security workers would never do such a thing – to promise to boost your Social Security benefits or to provide any kind of assistance in exchange for cash. Plus, if you think about it, it’s practically impossible for these fake promises to be real.

There is no way you could have a bigger Social Security benefit just by paying what might seem like a very nice and helpful employer. These scams are especially meant for people who don’t know much about the system.
