10 Low-Cost Waterfront Places for a Perfect Retirement

August 26, 2020 · Retirement Life

Richland, Washington

Even if you’re on a tighter budget, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy beautiful mornings and sunsets by the water.  Riverfront properties are slightly cheaper than other waterfront locations, which makes Richland an affordable and desirable place to move to.

Located at the junction point of Columbia and Yakima rivers, Richland’s median costs for a house with a mortgage go as high as $1,336 per month, while mortgage-free people age 60 and older have to pay only $448 a month. Renters have to give around $853 per month for a riverfront property and the chance to admire the bluffs and dunes of the Hanford Reach National Monument whenever they want.

Another bonus is that Washington doesn’t have a state income tax and it is also among these 14 States Where Your Pension Won’t Get Taxed.

This next location is the belle of the ball…..

I JOINED USA NAVY IN 1964 TO AVOID THE ARMY DRAFT.
I ATTENDED ELECTRICIAN SCHOOL AND WENT TO AN
AIRCRAFT CARRIER IN SAN DIEGO. WE MADE 2 TRIPS TO
VIET NAM. OUR SHIP HAD 3,500 MEN ABORD; I WAS PROMOTED
TO E-4 ELECTRICIANS MATE. I DO NOT REGRET ANY DECIONS
THAT I MADE IN MY LIFE. MY WIFE AND I ARE MARRIED 50
YEARS NOW. PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. I AM SURE
    THAT EVERYONE AGREES…AMEN.
