June 7, 2021 · Retirement Life

Malaysia

What more could you possibly want from your retirement than endless beaches, mesmerizing islands and pristine ancient rainforests? Then Malaysia is your place to go. But it’s not just the landscape and weather that make this country in Southeast Asia a good destination for retirement.

The cost of living is varies depending on where you decide to live, but it’s cheaper nonetheless to live in Kuala Lumpur, for example, than a small town in the United States. According to Numbeo, a six-member household would spend less than $6 per person for dinner at a good restaurant.

A single person would need around $470 a month, not including rent, to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in cities such as Kuala Lumpur and Penang, while a couple would have to spend around $1,800 per month.
