15 Places To Retire Where $200,000 Goes A Long Way

July 22, 2020 · Retirement Life

1. Panama

There’s a reason Panama made it to the top of our list. It’s one of the most breathtaking countries for retirees, and it offers everything one could ever want. No matter what your lifestyle is, we guarantee you can find a place to settle down during retirement. What are your sights set on? A bustling city life or a rural backdrop?

It’s also a great place to retire for those who might be a little worried about the whole process. The people are known to be welcoming and most of them speak English as a second language after Spanish. The country also offers superb medical care.

Panama City is more affordable than you might imagine. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment is as low as $930 a month. In other cities, it could cost even less, down to $630 a month.

But there are plenty of ways to save money in Panama City, such as giving up on your car. There won’t be any need for it since the city is known to be walkable. On top of that, you need only pay $2 for a rechargeable card for public transport, after which every ride will cost as little as 25 cents.

The country is also a great hub for international travel. It’s only a short flight away from Miami, but you could easily visit the whole region without having to worry about exorbitant airfare prices.

How to retire in Panama

Retirees of any age can retire to Panama through their pensionado program. Yes, that means you could even retire early without having to worry about a complicated process in order to settle down in this breathtaking country.

You need to prove that you have a pension of $1,000. The program also subsidizes medical care and expenses, car, and property taxes.

We think it’s time to buy that plane ticket, don’t you?

There should be a law about rent control in Florida, it is ridiculous. And spouses should be allowed to get their deceased spouses Social Security and should not have to be married for ten years or more before divorced to receive their benefits, it should be at least 7 years
