 Be careful: Other popular scams are those which use hope. The impostors tell seniors they won a lottery and that they should pay some taxes in order to receive the big prize.

Dangers: Victims are actually paying those fake “taxes” and may have their identity stolen.

What is being done: The FTC has created a web page about such frauds.
