10 Frauds Seniors Are Often Confronted With

1. Selling Fear

 Be careful: A first way some people may try to steal your money are some random phone calls that sell products for easing your hardships. There was such a case when a company was calling seniors (even those that were not supposed to be called) to fool them into buying medical remedies. Although no one was requesting an order, the company kept sending products and threatened seniors who didn’t pay.

Dangers: Victims lose money, paying the products or may have their identity stolen.

What is being done: The Federal Trade Commission deals with such untrustworthy companies.
