  • Old Computers – If you still have your first Macintosh, there are pretty high chances it’s collecting dust when it could just be collecting cash. Try selling your computer to Best Buy and use its Trade-In service to receive a Best Buy gift card!
  • Your kids’ toys – If you’re still keeping your children’s toys for sentimental reasons, it’s time to consider letting go. If some of them are still in a good shape, you can cash in a lot of money by selling them on eBay.
  • Books – Books require a lot of space, especially if they are just sitting on the shelves, waiting to be read again. Unless it has a sentimental value, consider throwing out that book you will definitely not read again!
  • Antiques – Just like books, if you have a proud collection of antiques, some of them might take up a lot of space you could use for other things.
  • Extra luggage – Truth to be told, you definitely won’t need more than one carry-on bag and one piece of luggage for any of your future trips. If you have more than one piece of luggage, consider selling the rest of them.
  • Handbags you don’t use – The same goes for handbags. If you’ve managed to collect an impressive amount of handbags over time, that’s great! But you should consider selling some of them, ESPECIALLY if they’re designer brands!
  • Sports equipment – It’s highly important to keep being active in retirement, but are you definitely going to use all that sporting equipment you have?
  • Unused electronics – There are many websites nowadays that will pay good money for electronics you’re no longer using, such as tablets and Apple TVs.

We decided that our crystal and china collections were just taking up space and not being used so we offered to our kids to go ahead and take it and use it! I would rather see them enjoying it now while they are young adults and not wait until we are gone!
