11 Ways to Improve Your Finances Before You Retire

April 8, 2021 · Personal finance

Aim to be Debt-Free

Entering retirement debt-free? That’s a dream come true, right there! You don’t want to ‘squander’ away all your hard-earned money during retirement, so try to focus on getting rid of that debt right now, before it’s too late.

Here’s the thing. People like to categorize debt into two categories, good and bad. But debt is still debt, and when you retire the last of your worries should be paying it all off. Your plans going forward should include aiming to be debt-free during your golden years in addition to saving as much as you can.

The sooner you prioritize this, the faster you’ll be able to put any additional money that you can aside! Get rid of that interest now!
