A very simple way to increase the value of your Social Security is to wait a bit longer instead of rushing in and claiming your benefits. This is a sure method to building up a sizable retirement nest egg.

In this case, even if you choose to retire before reaching the full retirement age, you will still have the advantage of being able to spend down some of your savings and hold off until later before getting Social Security checks.
