11 Out of the Box Methods to Save for Retirement

Invest What You Can When You Can With Partial-Share Trading

Online brokerages, though not all, can help you out with schedule transfers that make the previous strategy, dollar-cost averaging, possible. But keep in mind that even if they do, they might now allow for partial-share trading. By doing so, they defeat the whole purpose of dollar-cost averaging.

That means that the money will still sit around until you’ve gained enough of it to buy, so in the meantime it’s not working for you.

So, before you settle on an online brokerage account, make sure they allow partial-share investing. We recommend you look into Robinhood or M1 Finance.
