Top 20 Affordable Cities for Retirees in 2020

20. Houston

It might be surprising that Houston made it on our list, as most large cities are frighteningly expensive in the U.S. But despite it being the fourth most populous city in the U.S., it’s surprisingly affordable.

What’s unsurprising, though, is the long list of things to do here. You can catch major performances in the Houston Theatre District, a 16-block area home to artists of all kinds. The city is also home to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest and longest-running event you’ll find within the city limits. Not to mention all the parks and museums- so many we can’t possibly list, you could spend the rest of your retirement visiting.

All in all, Houston is the perfect city for those who want to settle down in a culturally diverse metropole.
